Fit to Run (5K) & Fit for Speed
Fit to Train is a 6-week program program designed for beginners and runners coming back to the sport to prepare prepare them for a 5K. We'll assess your current running fitness, and help you achieve your goal. Classes are divided into groups according to pace. Discussion topics include injury prevention, stretching, form, cross training, racing, shoes, apparel and much more. (Price: $105 with a $10 discount for registering before the first day of class)
Fit for Speed is a three phase program designed to improve your 5K and 10K race performance. Workouts to improve your speed include base building, strength, form & mechanics, running economy, hill & repetition training, intervals, ladders, threshold running, sharpening. (Price: $105 with a $10 discount for registering before the first day of class)
Specialty Classes
Good Form Running classes focus on proper mechanics and aim to help runners of all ages and abilities run faster, more efficiently, and injury free.. This class meets on Saturday mornings from 8:00 - 9:00 AM and will last 4 weeks. Our GFR class is designed with simplicity as the primary goal, because if something isn’t easy it generally doesn’t last. Not a runner? We emphasize how basic principles apply to both running and walking. Wear your running shoes for these classes. Be sure not to miss the first session. (Price: $50)
Running Fit is a great supplement to any training program and for any class of runner. It focuses on improving running form, economy and reducing the occurrence of common running injuries by strengthening the kinetic chain involved in running. You can expect to improve your proprioceptive abilities, dynamic flexibility, balance and stability, strength of core (abdominal, back and pelvic musculature), running form, and economy. The gear required include a positive attitude, good listening skills, a foam roller, and an exercise mat. 15K Class is an 8 week program designed to build base mileage. The class is designed for the runner who can run a 5K and wants to improve mileage base. Most participants in the class are planning to participate in a half marathon or marathon in the fall. This class will prepare you to enter our popular marathon class or move you to the head of our half marathon class.
